A solar charger is supplied with energy via solar panels and then stores it in batteries. Using the latest and fastest technology, the SmartSolar maximizes this energy harvesting and intelligently directs it to fully charge the batteries in as little time as possible. The SmartSolar maintains the battery's functionality, extending its life. The SmartSolar charge controller will even recharge a severely discharged battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulfated or otherwise damaged. MPPT: Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking By continuously monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar (PV) panels, MPPT technology ensures that all available energy is actually being drawn from the panels and stored. The benefit of this is most noticeable when the sky is partially overcast and the light intensity is constantly changing. Remote monitoring and control You can remotely control and monitor the extensive features of your SmartSolar MMPT charger by attaching a Bluetooth dongle and pairing it with your smartphone or other device via VictronConnect. If your system is connected to the Victron Remote Management Internet Portal (VRM), you have full access to your MPPT anytime, anywhere. Both services are available free of charge. Load output The 'Intelligent Load Output' function prevents damage caused by using ''dead'' batteries. You can configure the voltage at which the SmartSolar will disconnect a load - preventing excessive discharge of your batteries. And here's the kicker: the SmartSolar will attempt to recharge the battery to 100% every day. If this is not possible - e.g. in bad weather - it raises the disconnect voltage value every day until it is successful.
